About the collection.

I’m Thomas Claudius Thomsen, the person behind Claudius Labs. This project brings together two interests: Bob Dylan’s music and building useful little corners of the web.

I wanted a place for my album ratings and the songs that stand out to me. Somewhere simple enough to browse a record, find a favourite, and listen again. Because sometimes the best argument for a song is just playing it.

From the early folk records to the long, winding stories on Tempest, there’s plenty here to get lost in. The list gives my listening a little order. Dylan supplies the rest.

Every ranking is my own. Albums follow my personal order, with placement 1 for my first choice down to placement 40 for my last. Songs are rated out of 10. The album order reflects the whole listening experience and is separate from individual song ratings.

The song list is a selection, rather than a complete tracklist. Unlisted songs fall below 7 in my personal reckoning, without an assigned score. A handful of explicitly rated sixes are included too.

Consider these notes from one fan’s listening, open to another spin. If your favourites land somewhere else, that’s a good reason to start a conversation.
